Katie Clark, San Antonio 2012
Teacher of Students with Multiple Impairments
Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired
How are you making an impact for kids, the community, or the network?
Working at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired has allowed me to serve students with multiple impairments as well as provide training to their home districts and staff across the state of Texas. It has furthered my passion for students, education, and my belief that ALL students deserve and can attain an excellent education, especially those that have learning differences. I have dedicated myself to collaborating with students, families, campus team members, and the community to provide an environment in which my students have the confidence to continue to try and to succeed. I work every day to bring resources and opportunities to my students that enable them to become as independent as possible.
What do you hope to be true for Austin kids, community, and/or the alumni network 10 years from now?
I hope that Austin kids, the community, and the alumni network are aware of and supportive of ALL students, especially those with special needs.
